Robert R. Walsh "BOB", 75, of Redlands entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 28, 2014. Bob was born October 25th, 1938 in Hanford, CA. He is survived by his loving wife Marie "Tunie" and family. He was semi- retired and resided in Redlands for the past 16 years. He is survived by his brother Ed Walsh (Wife Sandy), Cameron Park, CA; his four sons Robert R. Walsh, Jr. ( Wife, Leslie), Yucaipa; Richard J. Walsh (Wife, Yolanda), Orange County; Jason Simmons (Wife Rachel), Redlands; Richard Root (Wife, Jessica), Orange County. Grandma Aldama, and Sister-in-laws Mitzi and Lisa (Redlands); Brother-in-law Waldo (Redlands); Grandchildren Indiana (Washington); Matthew (Desert Hot Springs); Marisa (Murrieta); Greg, Priscilla, Sydney, Ryley (Orange County); Jaden, Riley (Redlands); Samantha, Emma, (Orange County). Great grandchildren Killian and Kingston (Washington); McKenzie (Murrieta). Nieces and nephews Jenny, Dallas, Coby, Justin, and Megan (Cameron Park); Bob's first career spanned 31 years at GTE holding various positions from cable splicer to Asset Management. For the last seven years he found his niche as an owner operator of Ace Fire and Safety. He made countless friends and always made you feel like you were the most important person in the world. Bob graduated from Chaffey High School in 1956 as an Industrial Arts Major. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and spent many years as a reservist. He attained the honor of "Marine of the Year". Bob was a sports enthusiast and spent many years coaching Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, Football, Boxing, and Track and Field. He was the president of the Hemet Youth Baseball league and was active in a multitude of Community activities and organizations. He was once voted "Man of the Year" in Hemet, California. Bob was a Hot Rod enthusiast and was especially fond of Classic Chevy's. He found his paradise at the Pomona swap meet where he bought and sold vintage car parts. He loved to share stories of his 20 years drag racing and enjoyed bartering for his latest project; a 1955 chevy Drag Racer towed behind his 1955 Chevy "Big Window" pickup. Bob will be terribly missed by those who know and love him. Graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery, Redlands, CA on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.
