Ruby L. Irwin

November 13, 1918 — July 13, 2016

Ruby L. Irwin passed from this life to life eternal on July 13th, 2016. She was born on November 13, 1918 to Orpha Fenstermaker Rowan and Irvin Roy Rowan in Cortez, PA.

She relocated to California in 1961 and had been a long time resident of Yucaipa. While in Yucaipa she was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and remembered with fondness volunteering in the Children's Choir Program. An illness in 2011 caused her to give up her home and relocate to Angelus Oaks where she lived with her daughter.

She loved to dance, work crossword puzzles, read, spend time with her family and drive her 1975 Camaro. Ruby was proud that she had voted in every election since she was age qualified. She loved baseball and especially the Dodgers. Life had many challenges for her with the loss of her husband's, Chester Gilnett and later Stan Irwin. But with each loss she counted the good and cherished the memories and with courage she walked on.

She is preceded in death by her father, mother, 5 sisters, 3 brothers and a daughter, Nancy Olivio as well as two grandsons: Danny Olivio and great-grandson, Isaac Moeskau. She leaves behind two daughters: Patricia Moore and husband Jerry of Calimesa and Kay MacGregor and husband Fred of Angelus Oaks. She was proud to be a 5 generation family with 9 surviving grandchildren, 19 great- grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers: Ray Rowan and wife Helen and Verlin Jay Rowan and wife Ginge. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews with whom she maintained ties of love all through out her life.

Memorial service was on Tuesday the 19th of July at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel in Yucaipa. Interment was at Desert Lawn Memorial Park. Pastor Kim Krogstad of First Lutheran, Redlands officiated.
