Ruth Evelyn Tabor Evelyn Tabor, 91, died at her home in Mission Commons in Redlands on November 22, 2011. Evelyn was born on September 11, 1920 in Tallin Table, Nebraska. She was the second of eight children born to Albin and Augusta Magnuson. On November 9, 1940 she married Frederick B. Tabor in St. Louis, Missouri. Fred was in the US Air Force and after returning from the war, Evelyn was able to travel with her husband and their children to his many duty stations. She made many good friends through the years. In 1955 Fred was transferred to March Air Force Base in Riverside. They made their home there and Evelyn went to work for Sears. After 25 years she retired as a Payroll Supervisor. They enjoyed camping, traveling, square dancing, and bowling and were very active in their Church. Before Fred s illness they were able to travel to Europe, Hawaii, Taiwan, Japan and through out the US. After her husband died in 1987, she continued her active life traveling and volunteering as a Pink Lady for Kaiser Hospital earning her 20 year volunteer pin. She also was an active member and volunteer, at Faith Community Church in Riverside. She moved to Redlands in 2004 to be closer to her daughter Nancy. Evelyn is survived by her daughters Sharon (Chuck) Warburton of Central Point, Oregon and Nancy (Craig) Swanston of Redlands. Sisters Eula Mae Brooks and Doris Jean Whitchurch. Granddaughters, Thea (Dave) Hicks and Debra (Tom) Allen. Grandsons, Kevin Swanston and Brian (Amy) Swanston. Six great-grandsons, three great-granddaughters and one great-great-granddaughter. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Downs Syndrome Foundation. Visitation will be held on December 2, 2011 at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, 703 Brookside Ave. Redlands from 9:00-10:00am. Immediately followed by a Funeral service beginning at 10:00am. Interment will be at Riverside National Cemetery Riverside, CA.
