Ruth Pauline Sewell Paton

Born 03-15-1927 to Henry Grady and Juanita Jewell  Sewell in Beaumont, CA.  She was the Granddaughter of William Albert Sewell one of the first settlers in Beaumont.  Her brave battle with Alzheimer's Disease ended on 04-23-2014.

Ruth was raised in Beaumont and attended all her school years there.  She graduated from Beaumont High School in 1945.  She was the youngest of five children, all who are deceased.  They were Viola Velma Morse, Virginia Coral Rich, Irwin Grady Sewell, and Florence Marie Robertson.

Ruth was employed by the Beaumont Water District and Southern California Edison.  Her favorite job was being a daughter, wife and mother.  She moved to Redlands in the 40's and met her husband, Mancel C. (Pat) Paton, while working for SCE.  They were married at the State Street Christian Church in Redlands on July 1, 1949.  Together they raised two children.  Alan M. Paton and Anne Pauline Paton.  She was active in PTA, Cub and Boy Scouts, and the First Presbyterian Church.  Ruth was a completely devoted daughter, wife, mother and Grandmother.  Her strength and love will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Ruth is predeceased by her husband of 57 years in 2007.  Her Granddaughter, Katie Lynn Paton.  She is survived by her son Alan and Pam Paton of Walnut, CA. Daughter, Anne and Robert Bachman of Angelus Oaks, CA.  And six Grandchildren, Mark, Erik, and Tori Paton all of Walnut, David and Stephanie Bachman of Redlands, CA. Laurie Marie Bachman of Redlands, CA.  Brian and Allison Bachman Okihiro of Burbank, CA.

Visitation will be held on Friday May 2, 2014 at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel at 10:00am. Graveside service to follow at Mt. View Cemetery in Beaumont, CA at 12:00pm.
