A public memorial service for Ryan, Veronica, Mateo and Bella Villalpando will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at the University of Redlands Memorial Chapel, at 1:30 p.m. Ryan Villalpando and his wife, Veronica, were killed Saturday in a multivehicle traffic collision that shut down part of Interstate 15 South of Jurupa Avenue in Ontario. Their two children, Mateo, 4, and Bella Rose, 6 months, also were killed in the crash. Several members of the community, including friends, family members and associates, are holding fundraisers or memorials in honor of the family. A private family service will be held later. Community raising funds for Villalpando family, friends and businesses are raising money to help with memorial services for the Villalpando family. Ryan, Veronica, Mateo and Bella Rose Villalpando were killed Saturday in a traffic collision February 13, 2010. Proceeds from the fundraisers will also go to a scholarship fund created in Ryan s memory. A Chase Pay Pal account has been created for donations. Contributions can be mailed or walked into any Chase branch in California. The name of the account is The Villalpando Memorial, No. 880728555. Other local contributions: Sara Jimenez, Bella s daycare provider and Mateo s babysitter, is designing and selling a Bella bow and footballs for Mateo. Bows can be purchased at Rosa Maria s, 1154 Brookside Ave., Suite A, Redlands, and the office at McKinley Elementary School, 645 W. Olive Ave., Redlands. Kameron Henderson, a former Moreno Valley High School student, designed T-shirts available for purchase on Facebook. Gingerbread House, Mateo s preschool in Redlands, is planting a memorial tree. The school has been raising money for new playground and equipment and will donate leftover proceeds to a foundation in Mateo s memory. The public memorial service is 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at the University of Redlands Memorial Chapel.
