Sadie Ruiz Cabral

Sabina “Sadie” Ruiz Cabral, a lifelong resident of Redlands, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on June 14th, 2024 at the age of 99 and a half. A New Year’s baby born January 1st, 1925, Sadie was married to Richard S. Cabral for 58 years until his passing in 2005. Together, they cultivated a beautiful family for which Sadie was a pillar of faith and Richard a pillar of strength. Sadie made her house a home, open and welcoming to all and filled it with love and her creative spirit. She could always be found painting, knitting, sewing, gardening, playing piano, or singing heartfelt songs like “Amor Eterno” and “Si Nos Dejan.” A prayer warrior, she never missed a chance to preach the word of God, anoint the sick, invite people into the faith, and offer healing touch and compassion. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, Tia, and friend, Sadie is survived by 2 children, Richard Cabral Jr. and Alfred Cabral (Renee), 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Lorraine Valdez, son Randall Cabral Sr., grandson Nicolas “Nick” Valdez, and 2 great-grandchildren. Her services will be held Tuesday, July 2nd, 2024 from 10 am – 12 pm at Emmerson-Bartlett Memorial Chapel, 703 Brookside Ave. Redlands, CA 92373. The burial will follow at 1 pm at Hillside Cemetery, 1540 Alessandro Rd. Redlands, CA 92373. A Celebration of Life will then be held at the American Legion Post 650, 1532 Church St., Redlands, CA 92374.
