Surrounded by family, Sara M. Collins passed away after a brief illness Sunday, September 3, 2017, at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her husband George W. Collins, and her granddaughter Trina Collins. She is survived by her daughter, Cathi Bellefeuille (Sandy), her two sons, Mark Collins and Dan Collins (Barbara), six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Sara was born in Tampa, Florida in 1926. She attended local schools and lived in Tampa for twenty one years. In 1948 she moved to San Bernardino, California. Working in San Bernardino as a roller skating car hop, she met the love of her life and future husband George. George and Sara were married January 13, 1950. After marriage, George and Sara resided in Colton, moving to Redlands in 1955.
Sara was a loving and supportive mother. Through Brownies, Girl Scouts, Cub Scots, Boy Scouts, Little League Baseball, and PTA, she was active in the lives of her children. She and George were members of the San Gorgonio Aero Club, flying frequent short local trips along with an annual trip to Gonzaga Bay, Baja Califonria. Her greatest joys in life were her family and friends.
Memorial services will be held at the Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery, 1540 Alessandro Road, Redlands, California, 92373, at 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 8.
