Sonja L. Crow was born 2-1-1930 in Schweinfurt Germany to Albert and Ilonka Gillmann. She lived through WWII in the mountains above Stuttgart away from the bombing. She met John H. Crow, an American Paratrooper after the war, while she was doing translating for the US Army. They married and moved back to the US, where they lived at Fort Brag, North Carolina until he retired. John and Sonja had 3 sons; Tom, Dan and Sherwood. They moved to Monrovia in 1960 where they made their home for 55 years. She passed away on 9-24-2019 in Loma Linda CA.
Sonja was involved in the Monrovia League and her childrens schools. She became more active after the boys grew up. She loved the time she spent with her many friends, either swimming at the YMCA or doing projects.
She lived a full life and leaves her sons; Tom of Spokane WA, Dan of Redlands CA, and Sherwood of Brush Prairie WA, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was buried with her husband in Riverside National Cemetery.
