Steven Candelaria

Steve Candelaria of Mentone left to be with our Lord on October 18, 2011. He was born in Chambrino, New Mexico on December 26, 1914. He was 96 years old. He was married to his love, Grace, for 73 years. He worked at Redlands Country Club for about 40 years. In 1966 he went to work as a Gardener until he was 86 years old. He also bartended private parties for about 40 years. He was a member of St. Mary s Catholic Church in Redlands. He is survived by his wife, Grace; son Anthony (Gloria) of Highland; daughters Patricia Chavez (Rommie) of Redlands and Frances Diaz (John) of Mentone; siblings Ray Candelaria of Prescott, AZ, Richard Candelaria of Santa Clara, CA, Esther Berumen of Biloxi, Ms and Jo Williams of Palm Desert, CA. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother Nino Candelaria and Sister Rachel McPherran. Visitation will be held Sunday October 23, 2011 from 4-8:00, with the rosary at 6:00. Mass will be held on Monday October 24, 2011 at 10:00 AM located at the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church on Columbia Street in Redlands. Interment will be at Hillside Memorial Park.
