Terrence Murel Maxwell

January 17, 1931 — October 19, 2021

Terrence Murel Maxwell passed away peacefully on October 19, 2021, with his family by his side, after a long battle with cancer. Terry was born on January 17, 1931, in Spokane Washington, to Evert Melvin Maxwell and Marjorie (Tootie) Patricia Weller Maxwell. At a very young age he moved to Coulee City, Washington and moved in with his grandfather Charles J. Weller, and grandmother Claudia O’Larey Weller. Terry attended elementary and high school at the Coulee City Schools, and one year at Gonzaga High School in Spokane, Washington.

Terry lived a long and fulfilling life. Early in life, he worked with his grandfather, who taught him many skills including mining of Tungsten and milling it for market, and how to drive a truck, which he would use later when he made trucking his career.

In September of 1950, Terry joined the United States Marine Corp and was deployed to Korea where he saw combat duty in the Korean Conflict. He served on the front line in the 3rd Marine Division/Mortar Division. Terry served until 1953, with an Honorable Discharge.

In 1954, Terry married the love of his life, Betty Joyce Davis, and moved to Redlands, California where he began a long career as a truck driver with So Cal Freight Lines and other trucking companies. In 1985, Terry, along with his sons, started their own trucking company, Maxwell Transport. They would have this business for the next 17 years.

Terry will be deeply missed by his family and friends, and all who knew him.

Terry was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles J Weller, and Step-Grandmother Goldie Weller, also his mother, Marjorie Pierpoint and father, Evert Maxwell.

Terry is survived by his wife, Betty, his three sons, Charles, Mark and Timothy, along with their wives, Carola, Juli and Tammy, his grandchildren, Kevin, Michael and Shelby, and great grandchildren, Ezri, Catalina, and Noah.

Graveside service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at Hillside Memorial Park in Redlands, California. Masks will be provided. Flowers and condolences may be offered at 413 Hastings Street, Redlands, CA 92373.
