Vera Frederick Rupe was born January 23, 1919 in St. Louis, Missouri and entered eternal rest on June 27, 2015. Vera spent the last 7 years of her life living at the Loma Linda VA Community Living Center. An avid dog lover, the highlight of her day was when the therapy dogs came to visit. The family wishes to thank her friends and staff there for taking such good care of her throughout that time. Vera honorably served her country as a WAC in the Army Air Force during WWII. She was a member of the American Legion Post 106 in Redlands and past Commander of Women's Post 734. She was also very proud she was the first woman in California to pass the state boards for her landscape contractor's license. Vera was responsible for beautifying the landscape of many Redlands, Yucaipa, Calimesa and Palm Springs homes, churches and commercial developments. She was the owner of Entry Gardens Nursery in Yucaipa where she met many lifelong friends. Vera was a member of the Unity Church in Yucaipa. Her closest family, Sharon & Tom Jurgens of Redlands, Bruce and Nelly Klingman of Ramona and Daryl and Lilia Rupe of Vero Beach, FL cherish a lifetime of memories of this remarkable woman. She will be interred at the Riverside National Cemetery on July 29 at 11:00 am
