Verna, aged 80, died peacefully on April 28,2016. Verna was born May 2, 1935, in Alliance, Ohio, the youngest daughter of Vernon S. Woolf and Veronica Ione Woolf.
In 1942 her family moved to Maywood, Ca., where she spent her childhood. Verna graduated from Huntington Park High School on January 29, 1954.
On October 21, 1957, Verna married the love of her life, Tony Figueroa. They made their home in La Habra, Ca. Verna was a homemaker and mother and together Verna and Tony raised 7 sons. The family affectionately referred to her as Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs, with each son having the nicknames of each dwarf! In 1975 the family moved to Yucaipa Ca., where Verna' s parents were living.
Verna' s family and friends knew her to be a loving, warm and gracious person! She had a wonderful sense of humor and was happiest when surrounded by her large family and friends. She was truly loved and will be missed!
Verna was proceeded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Tony Figueroa on December 20, 2005. Also predeceased were her parents, Vernon and Ione, brother, Duane, and sisters Carol and Marilyn.
Verna is survived by her 7 sons and wives, Gary (Karen), Larry (Rosario), Russell (Eileen), Ron (Lucinda), David (Shirley), Greg, Kevin (Vicki) and her niece who was like a daughter to her, Pam Welsh-Durbin (John). She also leaves 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren as well as numerous niece and nephews, loving relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be held at Riverside National Cemetery on May 16, 2016 at 11:01.
