Veronica Tellez

Anita Veronica Tellez—an avid sports fan and skilled pool player, and a woman known for her kindness, generosity, and loyalty passed away on January 16, 2024, in Ontario, CA surrounded by family. She was born on July 29, 1952 in Los Angeles, CA.

Known as Veronica or Bun, to her brothers and sisters and Vero to her grandchildren and stepdaughter, Veronica was funny, warm, and caring. She cherished her wife and partner of nearly 25 years, Rachel Lopez Estrada, and together they enjoyed weekend trips to Laughlin, Las Vegas, or Big Bear, and watching the Dodgers, Rams or Cowboys play.

Veronica was an excellent listener and family and friends often turned to her for support. In her professional life, she used her detailed eye and calm demeanor to excel as a senior electronics assembler.

In addition to her wife, Veronica is survived by her siblings: Arthur Tellez, Jerry Tellez, David Tellez, and Lisa Thibodeaux; her sister-in-law Imelda Tellez and brother-in-law Joseph Thibodeaux; her stepdaughter Georgie Pinedo; her grandchildren Joshua Pinedo, Vicky Pinedo, and Tina Pinedo, and her son-in-law Victor Pinedo. Veronica also leaves behind several nieces and nephews: Andy Tellez, Renee Tellez, Lesley Tellez, Christopher Tellez, Tony Tellez, Gary Amaro, Mandy Amaro, Kayla Thibodeaux, Myah Thibodeaux, and Katelyn Tellez; and several grand-nieces and nephews.

Veronica was preceded in death by her mother, Rita Tellez, her father, Jerónimo “Jerry” Tellez, and her brother, Andy Tellez.

Memorial services to honor Veronica’s life will be held at Emmerson-Bartlett Memorial Chapel in Redlands, California on Saturday, Feb. 10, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Family and friends are encouraged to wear blue, which was Veronica’s favorite color. Veronica inspired her loved ones in so many ways, particularly with her strength and resilience in the face of life’s challenges. She will be deeply missed.
