Virginia L. Goude

Virginia L. Goude, 89, passed away at her home in Yucaipa, Sunday Oct 30. Her husband, Dr. A. Gordon Goude, cared for her during a 15 year struggle with Alzheimer s. They were married in Glendale CA in 1946, served as missionaries in Nigeria, and raised five children, Albert (Learner), John, Carol, Anne, and David. She graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1946 from Glendale School of Nursing. In 1971 she founded the natural foods bakery Mother Nature s Goodies in Riverside CA, developing and manufacturing granola and pies, moving it to Yucaipa in 1983. They followed in 1985. Virginia loved the outdoors and camping, cooking and experimenting with new recipes, and gardening. She is survived by her husband Gordon, brother Burton Pontynen (Angwin, CA) her five children, 11 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Her final resting place is Riverside National Cemetery. Memorial services will be held Sat. Nov 12 at 3 pm, at the Banning Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2369 W Nicolet St, Banning, CA 92220.
