William M. McLeod, (Willy) was called home to his Lord February 27, 2010. Willy came to Yucaipa in 1963 because of the clean air and he loved to see the sun come up over the mountains. He would say on a clear day you could see forever. He retired from LAZBOY after 20 years of service. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served from 1951 to 1955 with the 29th Infantry Regiment, Fox Co. on Okinawa during the Korean conflict. He was also a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving from 1955-1959 with the 436 Fighters squadron at George AFB. He enjoyed fishing, music, classic movies, surfing the net and chatting online. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Antoinette, devoted son Robert and daughter in-law Linda, loving grandson Cory, precious great granddaughter, Aubrey and sister, Jerrie Bernal of Coffeyville, KS. We all have beautiful memories of Willy that we will cherish forever. He will live in the hearts of those he left behind. Services will be held at St. Frances X Cabrini Church in Yucaipa on Friday, March 5, 2010 at 10:00am and burial to follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, Calimesa, CA. In lieu of flowers, Willy would have liked donations made to the building fund of St. Frances X Cabrini Catholic Church in Yucaipa. Family under the care of Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, Yucaipa.
