Yvonne Baker Teter was born on 12/16/46 at home in Westmoreland, CA. She passed into
heaven on 4/26/23 in Redlands, Ca. At age 4 she moved from Westmoreland to Running
Springs, where she lived until high school graduation. She attended Running Springs
Elementary from first thru eighth grade and graduated in 1965 from Rim High School. Yvonne
was preceded in death by her parents, Bill & Juanita Baker, by her brother, Billy and her son,
Danny. She leaves behind her husband Dan, her daughter Steffanie and husband Pat Miller,
and grandchildren Ally, Amber, Chelsea and Zachary; her sister Brenda Stone and nephew
Chris & Shelby Stone. Her nephews and nieces, cousins and other family members will miss
her dearly.
Yvonne graduated from Cerritos College in Norwalk, CA with her dental assistant certificate. She
worked in dental offices for 4 years prior to marrying Dan in 1973. When her two children were
young, Yvonne taught kindergarten for Christian schools, worked one year as a principal and
later became secretary/receptionist for her dad’s real estate office in Running Springs. She and
Dan later bought her dad’s business where Yvonne worked until retiring to Calimesa, Ca.
Yvonne loved holiday decorating, crafting and entertaining. Christmas was her favorite and she
decorated inside and outside, plus every room of her home! Family history was captured in her
photo scrapbooks, gifts were often homemade by her and recently she’d loved creating
holiday/seasonal wreaths to adorn everyone’s doors.
Yvonne grew up in church. Running Springs Community Church instilled in her heart the love of
Christ that she shared with so many. She was baptized after college in Anaheim,Ca. She earned
her 10 years pin for perfect attendance in Sunday School as a young girl. The warmth and
compassion she learned in church radiated to so many throughout her life. She was always
available to lend a hand, extend help or pray when anyone was in need. Yvonne’s life
exemplified Jesus’ and the Golden Rule of “do unto others as you’d have them do to you.”
Her family will miss her deeply but hold tight to each precious memory of her. Someday she will
meet us at those pearly gates, show us those streets of gold and welcome us into heaven with
her loving arms. Until then, we wipe tears away as memories arise and forever hold her within our hearts.
